J. F. Orr was a Weiser business visitor on Tuesday.
W. P. Ackerman was in Weiser on business Tuesday of this week.
R. B. Mitchell left Sunday evening for a week's outing at Starkey Hot Springs.
John Pierce was a Huntington business visitor the first of this week for a few days.
D. A. Ham who has been at Starkey for the last two weeks returned home Saturday.
T. H. O'Neill of Malheur, Oregon, is visiting for a few days at the W. R. O'Neill home.
Miss Lyda Ferry of Boise, is visiting this week with her aunt, Mrs. Baird of this city.
Dr. H. B. Catron left Thursday for Howe, Idaho, to visit with his parents for a couple of weeks.
Mrs. Ida Durham, of the Dalles visited Monday and Tuesday with her nephew, Dr. H. B. Catron.
Mrs. Wickham after visiting a week with her daughter, Mrs. H. B. Catron, returned to her home in Boise Saturday afternoon.
Chester Taylor of Clairmont, Oklahoma, arrived in Payette the latter part of last week and expects to remain here permanently.
Mrs. T. H. Sanger and daughter returned Saturday afternoon from New Meadows. T. H. went up Tuesday and came back with them.
Mrs. F. C. Lee and two children arrived in Payette Tuesday morning from Spokane for a two weeks visit at the home of her father J. B. Cosman.
Frank Crowther and family left Tuesday for Clearwater, Idaho, where Mr. Crowther has traded for a stock of goods and will take charge of the same.
Mr. and Mrs. P. Monroe Smock motored from New Plymouth to Payette Tuesday bringing with them Mesdames Hamilton, Myers, and Watson. The ladies spent the afternoon shopping.
We overlooked an item last week that will be of interest to quite a number of Payette people. It was the arrival August 7 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Snyder in Boise, of a fine nine pound boy.
Eunice Anderson the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Anderson, underwent an operation for appendicitis on Tuesday of this week, The operation gives every evidence of being a success and she is recovering nicely.
Demont Judd and Miss Helen Judd spent Sunday at the C. Lunn home at Falk. Miss Merna Dunn and Miss Edith Davis who have been spending the week there returned home with them.
Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hutchinson expect to leave the latter part of this week for Traverse City, Michigan, where they will make their future home, They have lived here many years and will be missed by a large circle of friends.
Mrs. M. D. Chandler entertained a few friends at a dinner Saturday evening in honor of her friend, Miss Patterson of Spear Fish, S. D. Those present were Miss Patterson, Mrs. T. F. Adams, Miss Anna Jacobeen, Miss Helen Reilly, Miss Ruth Maule, Mr. E. H. Murphy.
W. A. Hutchinson and family returned Tuesday from a delightful outing on Mann's Creek. They caught plenty of trout and think that a delightful place to enjoy a vacation. Birds were a little scarce yet they managed to get sufficient to satisfy everyone in camp.
Will White of near Nyssa, was a Payette visitor on Tuesday, He has a fine ranch on the Idaho side near Nyssa and is much encouraged with what he has accomplished since he went over there. He is going in largely for hogs, alfalfa and corn and has made some good money and at that is just getting the ranch under way.
That smile which won't come off adorning the face of Assistant Postmaster Wm. Carstens is not caused by any particular and much desired regulations that have recently been given out by the department. Oh, no. That smile is the result of the arrival at his home of a bouncing bright-eyed baby son on the morning of August 11th.
