Board of Assistant Aldermen.-The Board met at 5 o'clock. Present, the President and all the members except Mr. Brown of the 5th Ward.

The minutes were read and approved.

Petitions Presented and Referred -Of Daniel McKinstry to be compensated for damages by the loss of his horse and injury to his cab. Of N. P. Woodcock, and others, in relation to the drain corner of Bowery and 4th-street. Of R. W. Sherwood for stall 26 Essex market.

Resolution.-By Assistant Alderman William Dodge, That the Board reconsider the ordinance to amend the ordinance to regulate the City Watch, sent, with the Mayor's observations thereto, by the Board of Aldermen to this Board, and the same is hereby reconsidered-adopted and the ordinance taken up. The Veto Message of the Mayor, with the amendments to the ordinance, were then read. and, on a resolution of Assistant Alderman William Dodge, the ordinance was passed, notwithstanding the Mayor's objections, by a vote of 9 to 7, after an animated debate of nearly one hour.

The Board then took a recess for half an hour for supper. and then resumed their business.

Papers From The Board of Aldermen. -The ordinance to regulate the time of holding the Court of Special Sessions and to withhold the pay from the Aldermen when sitting in the General Sessions, was taken up and ordered to lie on the table and be printed.

The ordinance to amend an ordinance concerning the accountability of receiving and returning officers was concurred in.
