Olson Recommends Reorganization

SACRAMENTO. May 16. (UP)- Gov. Culbert Olson today sent to the legislature recommendations for reorganization of California's state government, especially to coordinate and simplify tax collecting and spending functions.

He urged passage of a series of bills and constitutional amendments introduced by Senator R. W. Kenny, Los Angeles, which he said incorporate the principal recommendations of a voluntary unofficial committee of 25 appointed by former Gov. Frank F. Merriam.

The Kenney bills are now held in the senate governmental efficiency committee, which recommended that no action be taken at this session.
