Paying Dear for it.

The Missouri Border Ruffians, under the lead of Atchison & Co., have cost the people of that State more than their miserable necks are worth. The St. Louis Democrat estimates that the conspiracy against the free Missouri in their blockade of the river alone, at least $300,000 on steamboat passengers, and as much more on freight. The loss in the purchase of supplies, groceries, clothing, &c., and provisions of the Missouri farmers cannot be computed. The Democrat says:

"It is safe to say that each steamer plying in the Missouri river would have paid for itself in one year, by the profits it would have derived from the white emigration to Kansas, and which has been lost by the illegal and outrageous interference of Atchison and his accomplices, with their business."
