Brown's Dust Is No Go As Maroons Romp
By RIC ROBERTS
The sensational running of Brown of Clark was not enough to stop the authoritative rushes of the Frank Forbes and in maroon-clad flashes Saturday afternoon at the John Hope athletic plant and so the Westsiders worsted Clark by a score of 58 to 30. Under ideal conditions with a modest but enthusiastic crowd trudging down the sidelines, the Morehouse team went straight to town.
Brown kept Clark well up in the races where distance was concerned and turned up as "sensation of the day" man for his efforts. Sam McKibben flashed some of his 1933 form in the finishes and put on a leap of 21 feet 7 1-2 inches in the broad jump pit only to see it go null because he fouled at the take-off. The Morehouse team showed flashes of rare form in winning the event which is, of course, a tribute to the splendid conditioning and tutoring of their conscientious coach.
The two teams will work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday here before leaving for the Tuskegee Relay Carnival Thursday.
Here are the statistics of the dual meet
