Full Text

Georgia supplied from her own poultry farms this year a larger percentage of the Thanksgiving and Christmas poultry that was served on her tables than has been the case, probably, in many years. Heretofore nearly all of the dressed turkeys sold in the cities have been shipped from Tennessee and elsewhere. This year Tennessee supplied a great many of them, but Georgia was in the market also with a lot of as fine birds as were ever served with cranberries and oysters. Many barrels of Middle Georgia turkeys were sold in Savannah this week, besides hundreds of turkeys from the rice fields of South Georgia. At Brunswick, it is reported, no less than 100 wagon loads of native turkeys were sold during the week at "holiday prices."
