Latest Legislative News.

Nashville, May 10.—The Senate special committee appointed to confer with the Comptroller, made a lengthy report showing the amount and other details of the outstanding coupon in possession of the State. The amount in the Treasury on the 10th instant exclusive of expenses was three thousand something. [Garbled section on House proceedings.]

Petition met and Brown and B. [something] withdrawn. Each other [candidates] and others were nominated at the convention, after which they met carried half an hour to the policy. [Garbled on election of Thomas Butler as clerk.]

On May 2, the Convention nominated Mr. Daniel of Rhea, Mr. O. Brown of Memphis, Mr. Peck of Wayne, Mr. McRee of Hamilton, Mr. Dunlop of Knoxville and Mr. Morris of Blount. On the second ballot, Blackmun received thirty votes after which his name was withdrawn. On the ninth ballot General A. or Wilson but [something] due to business in the city of Nashville unable to vote and was declared elected Comptroller.

For Treasurer, West Rust and Morrow of Knox, Mr. Woodward of Lincoln, Mr. Moore of Lawrence, Mr. McDowell of Haywood, Messrs. McEwer of Madison and McConnell of Davidson, were nominated. On the first ballot Mr. Rust obtained 26 votes, Mr. Morrow 20, Mr. Woodard 15 and Mr. McDowell 12, when the Convention took recess until one o'clock. Nothing further by yesterday's mail from the legislature.
