Exposure of base Fraud—Monday's Telegraph contains a long address to the public, by Gen. Duff Green, in which he fulfils his promise he made some time since to "expose a stupendous pecuniary fraud," with regard to a contract made for supplying emigrant Indians, by Major Eaton and Gen. Houston, with the connivance of the President. It is stated that the contract could have been made at a far more advantageous price for the United States, but that these favorites were needy and had to be "rewarded." Gen. Green himself waited upon the President, and represented the facts to him; but nothing could be done. The whole plot is laid bare with considerable minuteness, and those who hitherto reposed their faith in the purity of certain distinguished individuals may well pause in astonishment. As for ourselves, nothing can surprise us as to exposures—we only blush for our country, to think that men can be found to adhere to Gen. Jackson and support his administration, after the most profligate scenes and debasing acts are exposed and fully proven.
