Not in many months has Fairbanks had such a musical treat as that afforded Saturday night when Miss Cassie Hiller gave her violin recital at the Auditorium.

An appreciative audience composed of the city's best and most admired people, gave the young violinist a very warm welcome and she had no sooner finished her first number than the audience realized that they were listening to a young girl endowed with the divine spark and most generous and hearty was the applause.

The regular numbers of the program were:
Adoration, Borowski;
Canzone, d'Ambrosio, To a Wild Rose, MacDowell; Souvenir, Drdla; Relieve Me if All Those Endearing Young Charms, Moore;
Berceuse, from Jocelyn; Minuet, Beethoven, My Hero, from The Chocolate Soldier and Trauemerei by Schumann.

In response to encores, Miss Hiller played Annie Laurie, Humoresque by Dvorak, and Just a Wearyin' for You, by Carrie Jacobs Bond.

It would be hard to tell which of the numbers was most enjoyed. In the handling each and everyone in a most finished artistic manner.

Miss Hiller displays a warmth of temperament, which combined with a faculty for securing great variety of tone color, delicacy and technique gives wonderful promise for a great future for this young violinist.

Mrs. Moffat assisted on the program with four vocal numbers which were greatly enjoyed, her sweet mezzo-soprano voice being heard to excellent advantage.

With the solo There Let Me Rest, Miss Hiller played a violin obbligato Mrs. A. H. McNear accompanying on the piano.

Mrs. Hiller played the accompaniments to her daughter in a most skillful manner, lending excellent support at the piano.

It is to be hoped the public will have another chance of hearing Miss Hiller before she leaves Fairbanks.
