Fairmont Woman Attempted to Throw Herself Into the River.

Now In Jail Awaiting Examination to Her Sanity.

Mary L. Sigwart, of Fairmont, attempted to throw herself into the river Sunday night. She had been delirious at her home, and was sent to the North Wheeling hospital for medical treatment. Her sufferings are supposed to have deranged her mind. While the attendants were not present, she ran out of the room, jumped through a window to the ground, and ran down to the river shore, attempting to throw herself into the water. Several men prevented her from doing so.

As the unfortunate woman was violent and dangerous, she was removed to the county jail, where a close watch is kept on her to prevent another possible attempt to end her life. She will be taken before Justice M. J. Fitzpatrick this afternoon for an examination as to her sanity.
