I.L.G.W.U. Signs Dress Firms
NEW YORK. - The International Ladies Garment Workers Union reported progress in its drive to organize the remaining open shops in the city's garment industry.
Charles S. Zimmerman, vice-president of the union, announced the signing of a contract with Jonathan Logan, Inc., which until the agreement was reached was one of the largest non-union dressmaking firms here. The company, which employs 2,000 workers, signed the standard I.L.G.W.U. contract with dress associations.
