Unhappy Occurrence.—About 10 o'clock yesterday morning, a lad, of 14 or 15 years of age, was unfortunately killed by the unexpected discharge of a gun, on board the schr. Capt. Green, of North Carolina, lying at Fly Market wharf. The lad went on board the evening previous, and after stating that he was a stranger in the city, requested permission to sleep in the sails of the vessel. The Captain replied that he might sleep in the cabin with his little son. The lad accordingly supped, lodged, and breakfasted in the cabin. After breakfast, the Captain went on shore to attend to business, and during his absence, the two lads amused themselves with a gun, which they supposed was unloaded. At length the Captain's son levelled and snapped the gun at his companion; and a heavy charge of coarse shot entered his breast, and he fell lifeless upon the deck. We understand that some person from New London has since seen the lad, and recognized him as an apprentice, who had lately deserted from his master in that city. His name we have not been able to learn.-Com. Adv.
