ST. LOUIS, April 18.—A convention, composed of delegates from all the Trades Unions in this city, including the Knights of Labor, was held at Central Turner Hall this afternoon. The business consisted chiefly in completing arrangements for the grand parade of the workingmen to take place May 1, in commemoration of the establishment of eight hours as a day's labor. It is intended to make the parade the grandest thing of the kind that has ever taken place here. A resolution was adopted that none but the American flag should have a place in the procession.
