Singing screen star Deanna Durbin, (above), 21, scarcely raising her voice above a whisper, today testified in Los Angeles, according to Associated Press dispatch to the Empire, that constant criticism of her film and radio work by her husband, Lt. (j.g.) Vaughn Paul, USNR, 28, kept her in a state of nervous distraction. The proceedings took less than 10 minutes and the little actress was granted a divorce. The Naval Lieutenant and Deanna were married almost two years ago and thus tumbles what was considered Hollywood's most successful marriage. They met on a major film company lot in 1940.
