To the Class of 1940 we dedicate this page.
Are these the young people who will solve the perplexing problems that besiege a modern world? We think they are! At least we're sure they are going to try very hard. Youth . . . confidence . . . education . . . and the willingness to tackle anything . . . are all on their side. And though they know it not, they have the time before them to accomplish much . . . in the many years that lie ahead. Educated in a 'problem' world, they have no illusions about life . . . nothing to unlearn . . . only the eagerness to do something worth while.
So . . . here . . . now . . . all together . . . we join in wishing them to these fine, ambitious, bright-eyed young men and women we offer our heartiest congratulations. In graduating they have attained an important milestone. The road behind is marked with commendable achievements. The road ahead winds through the fog, veiled by a mysterious Future, with visionary peaks gleaming indistinctly . . . challengingly . . . ahead above the mists.
With which they match their scholastic attainments with truly brilliant achievements in the workaday world. And as their friends, we want them always to depend upon us. We want them always to feel that here are true friends who knew them when . . . who sympathized with their ideals and aspirations . . . who were ever proud of their achievements . . . who now wish them well in every mile of the journey forward. Congratulations to the class of 1940.
