VERY QUIET LIFE
Attorney C. C. Abernathy Tells
of Visit to Noted Client
in New York.
The Baroness Ione Sutton Zollner is
living quietly and happily in a little
four-room flat, 780 Madison avenue,
New York, according to her attorney,
C. C. Abernathy, who has just returned
from a ten days' stay in New York and
Washington. Mr. Abernathy went to
New York as the result of a telegram
sent him by George F. Hurd, who is
trustee of the Baroness' estate and
who is one of New York's leading law-
yers.
"The little flat is neatly and nicely,
but not luxuriously, furnished," stated
Mr. Abernathy, "and the baroness is
enjoying life with her two children,
Bedford Schope and Nonnie Zollner,
her little girl.
"Bedford is taking a course prepara-
tory to entering Harvard university
next year. The little girl is also in
school. The baroness is in the very
best of health and there is nothing
left but the memory of her stay in jail
here on the charge of espionage to
show the trying ordeal she was forced
to go through with.
"There has nothing new developed
in the case against the baroness, and
although we discussed the case at
length, nothing developed that would
be of general interest.
"The baroness is in receipt of num-
bers of telegrams and letters from her
friends, assuring her of their confi-
dence in her and their absolute knowl-
edge that she was innocent of the
grave charge on which she was held
here."
