Full Text
The great event which we have so confidentially anticipated; appears to us to be hastened, to its completion. The French by their own conduct, will force the whole of the rest of Europe to rouse and unite in one Grand Confederacy against them. The declaration of War by the Porte we consider as a most important circumstance, for it must decide ultimately the fate of Buonaparte and his army. That enterprising man must now begin to find himself in a very dangerous and critical situation. The Turks will be able to harass his army at least, if not at once to subdue it, and they certainly have it in their power to prevent the French from having any supplies of provisions; and, pent up in Alexandria, or pursuing a most difficult march, their army must hourly diminish by the climate, famine, or sword.
