Mr. Snowden:—Sir, observing rather a flattering article, in your paper of yesterday, in regard to my public services, in which you lament the tempestuous state of the weather, which prevented the opening of the Theatre on the night appointed for my benefit, and recommend another appeal to the liberality of the town,—I am induced to take this method of informing those who feel any interest in the event, that, ambitious of experiencing their kindness, I have made arrangements for the stay of the corps until after Monday evening, April 13th, for the purpose of producing one of the most successful of my dramatic productions, entitled "Fauntleroy;" which has never failed to attract, interest, and, perhaps, I may add, instruct and amend. The eventful life of that unfortunate man afforded the materials of the play, and fancy has arranged them in dramatic order. Hoping that my friends will not again be held in confinement by "the pelting of the pitiless storm," I am theirs, yours, and the public's obliged and devoted servant,
JOHN AUGUSTUS STONE.
