CINCINNATI-(ANP)-The 23rd anniversary conclave of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa which met here recently elected Mrs. Olivia S. Henry of Philadelphia as supreme basileus to succeed Mrs. Gertrude A. Robinson of New York City. The sorority consists of professional teachers and chose as its theme "Training Tomorrow's Adults for Tomorrow's Peace."

Other elected officers include Mrs. Ruby Grooms, Baltimore, 1st anti-basileus, Mrs. Larnie J. Williams, Birmingham, 2nd anti-basileus; Mrs. Thelma B. Parker, Detroit, 3rd anti-basileus; Mrs. M. H. Bluitt, Washington, supreme grammateus; Miss Vertha V. Waples Woodbury, N. J., supreme tamiochos; Mrs. Mattie L. Connor, Baltimore, supreme tamias.

Mrs. Hilda G. Bryant, Washington was named program director. Mrs. Grace Bouldin, Chicago, editor-in-chief of "Krinon." Miss Lillian A. Goings, Camden, N. J., was made national publicity director, and Mrs. Gertrude A. Robinson of New York City, executive adviser.

Executive committee members at large are: eastern region, Mrs. Rachel Ray, West Chester, Pa.; southern region, Mrs. Lila Butler, Birmingham; western region, Miss Thelma Powell, Chicago.

VISUAL EDUCATION The 1947 program of the group includes a campaign to establish a visual education library in Liberia as a token to the African Centennial Exposition, support of the "March of Dimes" project, especially since Upsilon chapter at Tuskegee has sponsored the infantile paralysis clinic of the John A. Andrews Memorial hospital there. ..an annual contribution of $100 to the NAACP for use in equalization of teachers' salaries and educational opportunities for colored students.

The sorority also went on record as supporting legislation in behalf of FEPC, anti-lynching and anti-segregation, and urged President Truman to order an investigation of the disproportionately large number of dishonorable discharges given colored veterans.

Wilmington, Del., was selected for the 1947 conclave.
