If the English Editor meant superiority of force. it is cheerfully granted, as the following statement from the Democratic Press will show. The news of the battle of Erie will reach them in season to give them some idea of American "superiority on the ocean" lake, It may moderate their exultation.

We have taken some pains to ascertain the relative force of these vessels, the following is the result.
