Event Details
The English did but very little other damage at Aix, besides demolishing the new fortifications. They committed no disorders this time, some of their officers even gave money to the French soldiers in the Hospital. When they left the Island, they desired the inhabitants to take care of their vineyards, for they should come to gather in their vintage. Their cruising on our seas begins to be troublesome; it hurts our coasting trade, and hinders our small squadrons from putting to sea, without danger.
