Full Text

The call of a Convention to amend the Constitution of the State, seems to be agitating almost every quarter of the Commonwealth. The Richmond Whig, several papers east of the mountains, and the whole north have urged the matter for some time past; and we hope that public sentiment in regard to this important measure will have undergone such a change by the next meeting of the Legislature, that there will be no serious opposition to it. The present Constitution is defective in many respects, and unjust to a large and rapidly improving portion of the State.

From indications so far, we believe the next Assembly will entertain the proposition favorably, and authorize the call of a Convention.
