By the Steam-Boat Car Neptune, which arrived yesterday afternoon, we received the following note from the office of the Albany Gazette, dated on Saturday morning.—
"A letter was received in this city (Albany,) yesterday, from Major General Brown, dated Buffalo, Aug. 1, which states, 'that our army at Erie were under no fear of being attacked by the British; that reinforcements were joining them, and that he, Gen. Brown, is expected soon to be in a situation to resume his command.'"
General Brown has made a demand on Major General Hall for 1000 militia. Gen. Hall has issued his orders for an immediate draft of that number.
The American Fleet under Commodore Chauncey, sailed from Sacket's Harbor on Monday last August.
