Pierce Worrall, residing at Kennett Square, was somewhat startled one week ago yesterday. The gentleman is a butcher in the Second street market house and is in the habit of stopping at Sharpe's hotel, Front and Market streets, on Saturday nights. On the evening of the 29th ult., he remained at the said hotel all night. Before retiring he placed his pocket-book, which contained $100, under his pillow. The next morning he arose, and, without securing the pocket-book, returned home. When he arrived there and discovered his loss he immediately telegraphed to this city, but the telegraph office here was closed. His brother, however, hitched up a team and drove to this city, when Mr. Richburg, the proprietor of the hotel, learned the facts of the case, he went to the bed room and there found the pocket-book, with its contents safe, snugly tucked in beneath the pillow.
