Full Text

PHILADELPHIA, August 30.

Late advices from Britain mention, that specie is become exceedingly scarce throughout that whole island, and that in consequence thereof a deluge of paper currency is now in circulation, which already subjects them to most of the inconveniencies the United States laboured under in 1778, 1779 and 1780, from the same cause: the labourers are very scarce, and the people universally discontented, cursing the king with his English villains, his Indian allies and his tory racals, and willing to submit to almost any terms, if they could once more enjoy the blessings of peace and a free trade with America.
