MODENA. April.

By Advices lately received here from Genoa, we hear, that notwithstanding the Chevalier Stephano Lonilleno, lately elected Doge of that Republick used all the Rhetorick he was Master of, to induce the Court to accept of his Abdication of that high and important Post; yet they have not as yet thought proper to give their Assent to his Discharge, and a new Election; all the Members of the Senate being fully convinc’d, that as the Posture of their Affairs is at present very intricate and perplex’d, no one can be pitch’d upon more capable than himself to sit at the Helm of their Government.
