Full Text
The Supreme Court of the state has held the acts of the recent session of the legislature invalid which causes the Barnes school district not to be made a part of the McCrory district. By the addition of the district north of McCrory the school conditions of both districts would have been greatly improved and we believe the majority of the people of Barnes will want the next regular session of the legislature to pass a bill of this kind, provided it shall not do away with their present school, but give them free access to the high school at McCrory and also name the directors of Barnes as members of the McCrory school board. The court's decision, however, favorably affects the road building in this county. Road District No. 12 had been amended to such an extent that it would have cancelled, but the act of the Supreme Court makes it possible now to build the highway which will connect McCrory, Jelks, Howell, Wiville, Cotton Plant and Hunter. About 30 miles of road is affected.
