Bristol, Jan. 23. Yesterday Morning about 3 or 4
Clock, two of the riotous Colliers, John and Edward
Harris, were taken out of their Beds in Kingswood, by a
Corporal and twelve Grenadiers, and brought to Town,
but were admitted to give special Bail for their Appearance.
The Colliers Wives and old Women of the Wood at
the first Appearance of the Soldiers, beat the Alarm. on
Fryingpans, &c. but the Soldiers got out of the Wood
before a sufficient Number was gathered to rescue their
Prisoners; and they did not come off without some Volleys
of Stones, which they returned by false Fires; but
had Orders to fire with Ball if the Colliers had attempted
a Rescue, or molested them too much.

Two riotous colliers, John and Edward Harris, were arrested in their beds in Kingswood by a corporal and twelve grenadiers around 3 or 4 AM. They were brought to Bristol and allowed special bail. Colliers' wives and women raised an alarm on frying pans, but soldiers escaped before a rescue could form, facing volleys of stones which they returned with false fires, under orders to use ball if necessary.
