CHANNEL MAY BE DREDGED

The entrance to Keeney Cove may be dug out by hand by a group of boys in the Naubuc section who are waiting for the river to reach its usual shallow point, so that they may start working. If the channel is deepened, motor boats can enter the cove. Fishermen have favored the idea, which was proposed by Harry Schmidt, as it will give them the type of anchorage they need.

Some men say restoring the cove entrance as it was in former years is an impossibility; others say it can be done.
