Korea Aftermath-UNKRA at Work

Even before the guns were silenced in Korea, the United Nations Korean Reconstruction Agency was at work trying to heal the wounds caused by war. One of the key tasks facing UNKRA in its reconstruction work, is the rehabilitation of Korea's shipping. Shown above (right) is the "Chin Hae Man" dredge purchased by UNKRA in Honolulu and shipped to South Korea where it will be used to reopen that nation's western harbors to peace-time navigation. At left is the United States Navy dry dock, "USS Ft. Marion," which transported the dredge from Hawaii to Korea.
