They write from Madrid, that the Ambassadors of Great-Britain and Holland at the Spanish Court, are under great Uneasiness at what is treating on (besides the Marriages) between that Court and the Count de la Marck, Ambassador from France: It's assured that one of the Articles is, for those two Crowns to make a common Cause in respect to supporting the Commerce in America. The Ambassador of France has, it's said, even made some Propositions to the Catholic King concerning the furnishing New-Spain with Negroes, which have been favourably received. It's further reported, that a Project is actually formed between the two Courts to forcibly restrain the Commerce of the Maritime Powers in America.
