OUR BLACKFOOT LETTER.

The Vote--"Florida Water" for the "Boys"

The Whisky Bill a Failure--Fun and Earnest.

Special Correspondence New North-West.

Blackfoot City, M. T., April 3d.

The vote here on the Railroad Act was 85 for and 45 against, and on Trustee, 85 for J. R. Quigley and 44 for Wm. A. Clark.

During the day a man could get all the "Florida Water" he wanted to drink, and in the evening the "boys," to the number of fifty or sixty, assembled at the "Bakery" and had a jolly time dancing and taking plenty of "Water" by the drink, bottle or demijohn, and a jollier crowd of "boys" I dont suppose you ever laid eyes on. I suppose there never was a bigger humbug law ever passed by any legislature than the one passed by the Ninth Session to stop drinking "Water" on election days.

At this writing, 2 a. m. April 4th, the boys are getting terrible happy, but I guess there wont be any fights or rows. There were probably about 200 bottles of "Water" "confiscated" around wood piles, etc., to-day, which looks as if the "boys" meant business up to the handle. We hope that the next legislature will repeal this humbug law, as it is hard work to find a more sober set of men than there is in Blackfoot on election days. We are sorry to see Mr. Quigley receive so small a vote here as he is a very competent and trustworthy man and should have received a unanimous vote in Blackfoot. Hoping that the Railroad is beaten plenty, I subscribe

Yours truly,

VIDI.
