THE ASSASSINATION OF FRICK.

The attempt to murder H. C. Frick, manager of the Homestead Works, Saturday, by the anarchist Bergman was a dastardly affair and deserves the severest condemnation that can be meted out. The leaders of the striking workmen deplore the attempted assassination and denounce all methods looking toward violence.

Let us hope for the sake of humanity that the men who are struggling for their rights had no hand in the sad affair, but rather that it is the crime of a half-crazed anarchist. Let his punishment be swift and sure as a warning to others of his ilk that law and order must be maintained at all hazards and that this country affords no shelter to men guilty of such crimes.
