The wife of Sir Hugh McKenzie of Montreal and F. I. Bridges, son of the General Superintendent of the Grand Trunk Railroad of Canada, were arrested in New York for alleged elopement. They were discharged by Judge Bixby. Mrs. McKenzie left the Tombs with her cousin, Lieut. Began, promising to return to Montreal. During Began's absence, she left her hotel, abandoning her children, and with Bridges, decamped for parts unknown. It is supposed they left for Philadelphia.
