The wife of Sir Hugh McKenzie, of Montreal, and F. I. Bridges, son of the General Superintendent of the Grand Trunk Railroad of Canada, were arrested in New York, last Sunday, for alleged elopement. They were discharged by Judge Bixby, and Mrs. McKenzie left the Tombs with her cousin, Lieut. Began, promising to return to Montreal. She afterward, during Began's absence, left her hotel, abandoning her children, and, with Bridges, decamped for parts unknown. It is supposed that they left for Philadelphia, and two Canadian detectives have started in pursuit.
