EDINBURGH, June 5. We hear from undoubted authority that the company of proprietors of the Forth and Clyde navigation, in executing the work of the great canal, propose to begin with employing only a few hands at first, so as it may be attended with no inconvenience to others who have occasion to employ workmen, or any ways tend to make labourers imagine wages are to be increased; and that several persons from England, skilled in the execution of such undertakings, have come down here, and offer to contract upon reasonable terms.
