Full Text

A correspondent of the Boston Statesman has recommended Col. Henry Orne, for Mayor of that city, in opposition to Mr. Quincy. Col. O. is well known to the public as a Crawford writer during the late Presidential contest. He was associated with the celebrated Jonathan Russell, in opposing the election of Mr. Adams, and the Statesman groaned year after year with the most vindictive abuse of that gentleman from the pen of Col. Orne. He is, however, a tolerable writer, but a violent politician, and in every respect incapable of filling the office for which he is recommended.
