Throughout Sunday the birth of Christ was proclaimed. The choir rendered "Music of Bethlehem" by Holton. Solo "Gesu Bambino," by Mrs. Alberta C. Valentine. The pastor spoke on "Silent Stars Go By." Paul, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brown, was blessed. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rogers standing as the godparents. Greetings were acknowledged of men in the service also a gift of money from Pfc. Sherman D. Howie and wife of Lubbock, Texas. A beautiful poinsettia was given in memory of Mrs. Taylor by Deacon Taylor and family. The program of the Sunday School followed the morning service, Mr. Everett West, superintendent. A group of songs and recitations were given by the beginners, Mrs. A. C. Valentine, teacher; first and second year primaries, Miss Sara R. Tanner and Mrs. Greta Gibson; juniors.

Sunday a.m. a capacity Xmas Day crowd heard Dr. Davis' wonderful Xmas sermon. All choirs rendered music. Gifts were presented to the pastor, Mr. Bland and Mrs. Green. Sunday Dec. 31, services, 10.45 a.m., no 7.45 p.m. service. 9 p.m. Watch meeting 'til midnight. Youth Fellowship meeting at 6 p.m. under Mr. Browning. All welcome!

Misses Virginia A. Carter and Evelyn High. The program concluded with the theme song which was composed by Miss Barbara Mason. Copies with folders were presented the school, the gift of Mr. Francis L. Stokes. The Christmas cantata "The King Cometh," was well rendered by the choir in the evening. Mrs. Bella Hinton, organist and director, with Mrs. Valentine at the piano. Rev. Clayton gave a reading "The Bells of Christmas," by Longfellow. Among many visitors present were: Sgt. and Mrs. Major Smith, called home at the death of his sister, Miss Queenie Smith, whose funeral was Wednesday afternoon with Revs. Jackson and Clayton officiating. Miss Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Major Smith, Sr., of Madison street, Malden, a member of the Eastern Avenue Baptist Church.

Watch meeting service will be held at 10.30, Dec. 31. A cordial invitation is extended to watch the old year out and the new year in, praying that peace may come and all in service can return to their homes once more.
