Rumours of Marshall prevail: but nothing certain has yet come to hand.
In the preceding pages we have given the latest European accounts--Capt. Motley, of the ship Caroline, arrived at Philadelphia, furnishes the following article:--
"Capt. Motley, of the ship Caroline, arrived at Philadelphia, sailed from Cork on the morning of the 4th ult. at which time he was boarded by a Press Gang in search of men, who took from him a black man named Thos. Johnson, of Philadelphia, who had no certificate of citizenship. The Lieutenant told Capt. Motley, that they had the night before received positive orders to man their ship with the war complement, and he was in hourly expectation of a DECLARATION OF WAR."
