Local Troop Wins in
Field Day Competition

At the annual field day of Hartford County Boy Scout troops, sponsored by American Legion Posts on Saturday, Troop 72 of this town won first place.

This year's field day was held in Windsor. The local scouts competed with troops from Windsor, Glastonbury and Hartford. Sixteen of the scouts and their officers made the trip to Windsor. Troop 72 won four first places, two second places and one third place in the contests, scoring in seven of the eight events to pile up their winning total of 45 points. Troop 18 of Hartford was second with 43 points.
