Supply Unit News
By Johnny McKnight
William Morris, dept. 36, liked the army well enough that he quit the shop and re-enlisted.
"Dutch" Schliebner, dept. 85, is getting along fine in Robinwood hospital after an operation. We hope to see him back on the job soon.
Ray Trimmer Jr. is back on the job again in tool crib 3 after serving in the armed forces for over three years.
Notice to servicemen!
Please give your name and address to your steward or committeeman who will turn it over to Ed Fitzgerald, our representative on the servicemen's committee. Ed would like to get his records up to date so he can send announcements of servicemen's meetings to you boys.
This is another appeal to our membership to go down to Local 12 and pay the General Motors assessment. This money is greatly needed for a good cause. Our unit is far behind in this obligation. Don't forget it is our obligation to give support to the men who are walking the picket line.
After being kicked around by "Big Shot" Forrester for four years, Brother Art Cowell is working in the welding department where he should be on the road to making good. But alas, that is not to be. He just moved in under the supervision of the second biggest heel in the shop, J. McClosky. One advantage that you have, Art, is that you won't have to live in Trilby.
Take it easy, Jim, you are becoming unpopular very fast, and no matter how hard you try, you will never reach Eyler's and Ringman's infamous pedestal for unpopularity.
Another issue to be taken up at our wage negotiations meeting. The three cents per hour cut for the lathe men in dept. 37.
This is a direct violation of our contract with no strings attached.
