The largest PTA meeting in the history of South Fulton High School (East Point) was that for October when officers were installed and Mrs. Johnnie Jenkins of the Fulton County Juvenile Court addressed the body on Juvenile Problems Relating to common problems known to the Court Probation Officer.
Jenkins warned parents of the rise in delinquency and emphasized that delinquent behavior does not occur overnight. She stressed closer ties of parents and children, the need for religious activity and urged cooperation of parents and teachers as a vital cog in delinquency prevention.
The Rev J A Baxter, Mallilieu M. E church. East Point. installed officers after presentation by Miss L. M Harris. assistant principal at South Fulton. Installed were Mrs Thelma Abbot. president: Mrs Ozell Blackmon, vice president. Mrs. Alice Washington secretary. Mrs C. Wilson. assistant secretary Mrs. Eucilla Thomas. treasurer was absent due to illness.
Reports were made by Membership Contact Committee chairman. Mrs Chambliss: Budget Committee, Mrs L M Harris.
Other program participants included the South Fulton Girl Quartette directed by Mrs G. W Moore. the Rev W T Gilliard. College Park, scripture and prayer: Mrs. E A Hill introducing Mrs Jenkins and the Rev. Moore benediction. Remarks by Principal F. S. McClarin included appreciation for support in attendance. program and school support.
I A Robinson. F L Blackmon and Mrs E. A. Hill were sponsoring teachers for the meeting.
