COMMUNICATED.

Editor Appeal: It seems that "A Member of the Reform Club" has taken exceptions to my article in regard to selecting a President of the club.
I fear the ox-growing story in Webster's spelling book applies to this correspondent, who says complimentary things of General Edwards, but, perhaps, is not too modest to fit them to his own case. He knows, or ought to know, that General Edwards has time and again asserted that he would not be a candidate for re-election, and I believe the General to be a man of his word. The writer is fully aware of the fact that the Carson Reform Club "is an organization of itself," and would most appropriately nominate and elect its own officers; but is this "organization of itself" too independent to receive even a suggestion made in a civil and friendly way?
The club in the near past has not been too independent to receive financial favors at the hands of the "Ladies' Union," of which fact this Reform correspondent, I doubt not, is aware.
But this subject is perhaps of no great interest to a majority of the readers of the MORNING APPEAL, so I'll drop it, hoping in the meantime that the discussion has produced some good in creating an interest in the election of new officers for the Reform Club.
A Member Of The Ladies' Union.
