Full Text

Union Demonstration at Long Bar.

A detachment of the Union Club of this place had a social gathering on Friday night, to celebrate the late Union victory in this State; and previous to retiring from the banquet hall, they chose our pioneer citizen, Col. H. L Johnson, to lead the van for the purpose of firing a general salute for all the States--thirteen for the original States, and twenty-three for the loyal States.

Then followed an ordinary fizzle for South Carolina, ten common fizzles for the seceded States, and a general fizzle for the Breckinridge party in California--and finally, a grand salute for the Union party of Yuba county.
