Joan Allard Leads Golfers Shoots 79 Medal Score in Sweeps

With a 79 medal Mrs. Robert Allard (Joan Mahon) paced the field of entrants in the monthly sweepstakes held yesterday at Brookdale by the Tacoma Women's Golf association.

Play was match versus par.

In the first division Mrs. Allard of Brookdale led with 79-5=even to par. Mrs. L. G. Feidler of Fircrest placed second with 84-10=74 down. Third place went to Mrs. Arthur Rust, Country Club, 91-11=80 down.

Allenmore members took the first and second spot in the second division. Mrs. Matt Richmond leading with 91-16=even and Mrs. F. Melquist, 91-18=73 down.

Mrs. G. Rowe of Brookdale finished third, 93-17=76 down.

Mrs. Walter Buhre of Meadow Park led the entire field with a 5 up advantage over "Mrs. Par" shooting an 87 with her 19 handicap and out in front in the third division. Mrs. M. Witheridge of Highland was second with 97-21=76 even. Last place went to Mrs. D. M. Wood of Fircrest, 95-22=73 down.

Fourth division players were led by Mrs. P. Sharp, Fort Lewis, 99-23=76 down, followed by Mrs. H. McCormick of Fort Lewis with 104-25=79 down. Mrs. C. J. Senner, Meadow Park with 102-24=78 down, third.

Mrs. H. Flanders of Fircrest was fifth division winner with 116-35=81 up.

Mrs. E. L. West and Mrs. E. J. Elmore both from Highland shot 113-28=85 down and 112-30=82 down, respectively.

In the sixth division, Mrs. Theodore Turner of Allenmore was first with a net 73 and Mrs. E. F. Buchanan of Allenmore was second with a net 82.

Mrs. Robert Allard won with 14 putts in the putting contest.
