XMAS CHEER GIVEN BY CLUBS OF ZION BAPTIST CHURCH
The many auxiliaries of Zion Baptist Church, F street between Third and Four-and-a-half streets, southwest, of which Rev. W. L. Washington is pastor, united in giving Christmas cheer to many of the poor and shut-ins among their members and friends, Christmas eve. The committee was headed by Mrs. Jennie Brown-Lee. Eighty-six baskets, filled with all the dainties of the season, and $1.00 to purchase a chicken were delivered. Mrs. Edith Murray was secretary of the committee, and Miss Sarah Barbour, treasurer. $105.95 was contributed by the members and friends of the church for the effort.
