Full Text
Perry Older, of Carson City, Mich., was calling on friends at the Rapids, Monday. Mr. Older was born in Grand Rapids (then Gilead) in 1847. His father, Geo. Older, was foreman in the Purdy saw mill, and afterwards farmed the Howard place, on Beaver Creek. Perry received the nickname of "Clint" in early childhood, and old timers will remember "Clint" Older, but not Perry. "Clint" Older enlisted when a mere boy and served in the war of the Rebellion. He returned to the Rapids in the fall of 1865, but within a few weeks went to Michigan, where he has since resided. He is said to be one of the best mill-wrights in the country.
