Full Text

It is said by the Eastern press that President Arthur is just now concerned about the nominee for governor of New York, Secretary Folger being his choice. The New York Mail and Express says that the president believes that Judge Folger would get from 10,000 to 15,000 more votes for governor than any other probable republican. The Mail and Express admits that the politics of the state promise to become very complicated and interesting before next November. Should the human jackals who have been preying upon the reputation of Garfield continue their ghoulish work, and still call themselves republicans, it is probable that the complications will become of a decidedly unhealthy nature for that wing of the party to which those malcontents ally themselves. The fall elections bid fair to become exceedingly interesting wherever held.
