YAKIMA—A banquet in the Donnelly Hotel here launched a two-day joint Grand Scratch of Cooties and Cootiettes September 27 and 28. Festivities included a fun parade, a dancing session with Harry James and his orchestra, a grand officers' breakfast, and several business meetings.
Ethel Dore, grand chief grayback of the Cootiettes, presided at the women's grand officer breakfast. A report of the Supreme Crawl held in Cleveland was given by Frances Brining, grand pious louse.
The business session of the convening Cooties was called to order by Grand Commander Alvin Stenso. Fourteen graybacks were on hand for initiation in the third degree.
Clarence Miller, Martin Hagan, Sam Connell, and Red Allison were appointed deputy inspectors. In other appointments Halley Dore, Rutherford and Tony Devincento were named to arrange a grand scratch with the Oregon Pup Tent.
The next Grand Scratch will be held next January in Hoquiam.
