MURDER IN CULPEPER.-We have already mentioned that William Curtis had shot Frederick Brown in Culpeper. The Culpeper Observer of Friday has an account of the affair. It appears that on Sunday, the 5th inst., the parties were at the tabernacle meeting house in Culpeper-that Brown commenced a conversation with a young lady who was inside the church, through the window. The mother of this young lady was an aunt of Curtis; and she, observing the conversation, expressed her displeasure at it; remarking that she did not thank any gentleman for conversing with her daughter during religious service, and that Brown had better come into the house and get religion. Brown became offended at this, and in the hearing of Curtis, indulged in some harsh remarks against the lady-thereupon Curtis borrowed a pistol from a friend and went after Brown, who had walked off, and overtaking him, struck him with a cow-hide. Brown turned upon him; but Curtis warned him not to advance: for if he did. he would be a dead man. Brown heeded not the admonition, but stepped forward, when Curtis drew the pistol and shot him dead. The ball penetrated the head at the eye. Curtis made his escape.
