LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY'S FUNDS ATTACHED BY STATE
North Carolina Takes Drastic Action Against New York Association to Collect Policy.

(By Associated Press.)

RALEIGH, N. C., Feb. 9.--Tonight in Durham, in the State courts, a temporary receiver was appointed for the Mutual Reserve Fund Life Association, of New York, on its business in this State, the Durham Loan and Trust Company being appointed receiver, the matter being returnable in Greensboro, February 21, on application to make the receivership permanent until enough is collected to pay $2,000 claimed by J. W. Blackwell, of Durham.

A second order was also signed directing the company to show cause in Greensboro on February 24 why a temporary receiver should not be appointed on claims for $3,000.

Judgments for the amounts have been obtained and all payments other than to the temporary receiver have been enjoined.
